Jamie Oliver said “I wish for your help to create a strong, sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity.” And IDEO founder Tim Brown rightly thought that designers could help in making this wish come true.
There might be designs to encourage or educate to cook healthier, to enjoy cooking, to control your diet, to make food playful and delightful, to shape new eating habits (or maybe reinvent the old one?).
Just recently I read about a berry that when you shew it the taste of salty or sour food changes to sweet. Scientists thought of new food sweeteners. Others though of fancy dinner parties. Here science and design could bring about new synergies for a more exciting and healthier living.
