Taxing to Change Behaviour

BBC Radio 4 have run a short series this week, called 'Evan Loves Tax' looking at the various aspects of tax systems.  Nothing more boring, you might think, but you'd be wrong!  Evan Davies presents a fascinating insight into just about every aspect of government.  I particularly liked the episode below which focussed on the use of tax to change people's behaviour.  We could call it, ahem, tax design.

Eat for Good

Flying back from the US on United Airlines I was given a choice of snack boxes to buy.  I chose the one called 'Eat for Good'.  The photo shows that it "was designed by Melissa Don, an 18-year only participant in Chicago's After School Matters programme".  A good example of food design for TMA04.

 
 

Interesting Design Interview

This is a nice BBC World interview with the curator of design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Paola Antonelli. She talks about the changing nature of design education along with what she considers good design to be.  She also touches on Design and Politics.  Well worth a listen.
