This set me thinking - one of the co-founders of Flickr is launching a new online game called Glitch. It is set in the future, in this seemingly utopian world, but there are glitches causing things to fall apart and players have to travel back in time to try to find what caused the problems and change things to make a better future. I wondered if this concept might somehow be relevant to block 4 as an exercise to help students think about the global impact of design thinking? What if they could travel back in time and change something design-related, what would they change and what might it's impact be today? Or maybe they should imagine themselves in the future to see what impact their design thinking of today could have? (Or maybe I've just done too much caffeine today!!)
I was also really interested to read that the origin of Flickr was a game. As part of it players could drag and drop images into their conversations. The couple who made the game noticed that most of the players used it to share photos and from that came Flickr.
